Joseph Lovejoy, the Chairman of the Board of Ensign-Bickford Industries, has announced the appointment of Bruce Ryan to the Board of Directors.

Founded in 1846, Ensign-Bickford is a167 year old privately held business with a diverse product line, ranging from pet food products to chemical plant sundries, fibrillated yarns, explosive initiators for the mining industries and innovative ordinance initiation systems for the Aerospace and Defense industries.

The search charter called for "an individual with CEO managerial experience, financial acumen, strong international manufacturing experience, knowledge of Technology and Aerospace/Defense and a proven record of market assessment, product development, Mergers & Acquisitions and strategic planning."

Mr. Ryan brings the requisite experience, having had global CEO P&L manufacturing experience for technology companies ranging from $20million to $300million (Fisher Controls and Permea, a $100 million manufacturer of hollow core fiber membranes/ gas separation and nitrogen generating systems) as well as having set up the offset program between the British Government and McDonnell Douglas on the Harrier AV-8B program. Currently he is the CEO of Maxcess International, a $120 million fully integrated manufacturer/supplier of capital equipment and accessories for the web handling industry.

Mr. Ryan holds a BA Degree from the University of Missouri and an MBA (Summa Cum Laude) from St. Louis University.
